The Muslim Quarter

Lest week, Rachel and I went back to the Muslim quarter to do some shopping. If you follow me on Facebook you'll remember that we went there once before and sadly my cell phone was stolen so I was not able to post any pictures. We recaptured a few of the photos from before.

The Muslim Quarter is famous for various types of food.

No idea what these are called but there are many stands selling these cool looking breads,

Banana's covered in something.

Tortados!!

This is probably only funny to my friends in SE Idaho.

The streets are dotted with these containers filled with sticks. They are the skewers from the various grilled meats they sell.

Here are some skewered squid.

A popular treat around the Muslim Quarter is taffy.

They fold and pound it.

Then stretch it.

Muslim Quarter is one of the most exciting places in the city and a great place to do some shopping.
