Only In China

If you want a small glimpse into everyday life in China, here are a few photos from my journey so far.

Split pants for kids...yep no diapers. YIKES!

Toilet paper roll with no hole in the middle. We have a holder in our bathroom but it took us quite a while to find bathroom tissue, with a hole to go on it. So for now we get this fun little thing.

When someone hands you a menu that is entirely in Chinese with no pictures, you better pray that your Waygo app or something is working properly. Luckily I just said "bu la" a bunch of times which means 'not spicy' and nui roh (pronounced 'new row') for beef and it all worked out.

Everywhere at night you will see groups of people gathered together to dance, this semi yoga/zumba/line dance.

They even do it in the parking lot of the grocery store.

Don't feel bad about that 7am run to McDonalds or Starbucks anymore. When Honey Bunches of Oats costs 55 Yuan or ~$10 USD you can drink that nonfat, quad shot, venti latte with pride.

The Chinese are Not wasteful when it comes to meat. Did you know that duck tongue is considered a delicacy???

How about the duck head??

Ah luckily, back out on the street you can get these simple fry bread sticks and worry no more about weird meat. These little bread scones are only 1 Yuan each or > .20 cents USD.
